Today I would like to take time to reflect on the Titanic.  So many people became victims of this great disaster.  Have you thought about the dogs on board?  According to records I have found, there were at least 12 dogs on board, of which only 3 survived.  The three dogs that survived were little dogs and they were smuggled onto the lifeboats.  "Lady," a Pomeranian who had been bought in Paris, had shared the cabin with her master, Miss Margaret Hays, who wrapped Lady in a blanket when ordered to evacuate.  The other two dogs were a Pomeranian (name unknown) owned by the Rothschilds Family. and a Pekingese named "Sun Yat-Sen"owned by Henry Harper.
Other dogs that were on the ship who did not survive included a toy poodle, a Fox Terrier named "Dog" and a Airedale named "Kitty."  There was also a Great Dane owned by 50 year old Ann Elizabeth Isham, who adored her dog and visited it each day in the ship's kennel.  When she was evacuating she asked to take her dog.  She was told the dog was too large, so she refused to leave without her dog and even get out of the lifeboat.  Several days later, the body of a woman clutching a large dog was spotted by crew of the recovery ship.
I need to mention that generally there was a cat kept by the crew on board ships to help with the mouse population aboard ship.   It was said that there was a cat with young kittens aboard this ship when it started its voyage,  but when the ship arrived in Southampton she was seen disembarking.  She retrieved all her kittens and disappeared.  Did she have some sort of premonition about the voyage?
So please, today as you remember the human victims of the Titanic, also remember the dogs victims of this horrible disaster!
RIP my dear friends. In heaven we shall meet!

The weather was beautiful today.  The tulips are out and look so pretty.  Jaybo thinks they smell good too.  Katie took pictures with all the pets today at the beautiful tulips.  It's a yearly thing we do around this house.  (Or so they tell me.  I do remember doing it last year.). Happy Easter to all my friends, two and four legged!  I am gonna try and stay awake tonight to chase that Easter Bunny.  It'll probably be as much fun to chase her as it is to chase the cats!
Our kid, Katie came back from the place they call Disney.  This is a picture of her and her friends in Disney.  One of these doesn't look like a normal kid, I'm guessing he is adopted from someplace other than Boyertown.  (Maybe Pottstown, I'm really not sure). Katie said she had a really great time at Disney and at some Castle, she went to in Florida. I think she said Harry Potter owned it, or something like that and she drank something there called butterbeer.  I'm not sure what that is but she said it was very good.
