Hi Gang!
Dad was putting together some weird looking thing.   When he was done, I heard mom say that cat tower is really neat!  WHAT?  A cat tower!  Are you kidding me, a new cat tower for those little brats?  What, wasn't their old one good enough for them anymore?? Are they so special they need a new one every couple of year??   I mean if they didn't destroy it, they wouldn't need a new one.  If they didn't rub their darn claws on that rope stuff it would last so much longer!  Why doesn't mom tell them?? She seems to like when they dig their claws into the rope stuff on their tower.  Really cats have you no manners?  I never do that and the other dogs have manners too, and they never do that!  But mom gets them a new tower.  Something is going to have to give here. I'm not gonna stand for it!  I guess I'll just have to sit down and shut up.  I see Holli has already taken up residence on the stop level of this new tower.   Doesn't she think she's queen of the tower.  This is really getting under my skin.  I'm gonna have to call a meeting of the dogs when mom and dad are at work tomorrow.  Stay tuned.  I'm not sure what's gonna come of all this!

I don't know if you can tell by this picture or not, but mom gave me a bath. I'm not happy..

Mom wasn't happy with me this morning.  She left me out so I woudn't do my duty in the house.  Guess what was out there?  A big deer!  I got so excited and since mom didn't have me on a leash I chased it out of our yard and into the woods.  I was a good boy and came home in just a few minutes.  But mom didn't reward me at all!  She yelled at me, she picked me up and then she discovered to accomplish the great feat of getting that deer our of our yard, I had to conquer a moat that seems to be everywhere in our yard.  I braved all that mushy, muddy water and I chased that mean deer out of our yard. But mom didn't seem to care, she was just concerned that when she picked me up I was wet, I mean I was dripping wet. Well, I worked hard chasing the deer through all that stuff. Instead mom took a towel, dried me off and threatened me with a bath later in the day, when she'd be fully awake.  If you know my mom, she will go through with her threats, and here I am, clean but very unhappy!
(Penny got a bath too, and she didn't do anything, I guess she must have smelled)

Have a great weekend folks!

Love,
Leonard

So, Clara has been here 3 1/2 months.  She is officially part of our family. She seems to feel pretty comfortable around here.  That makes me happy, I like when dogs feel a part of the family.  Now my thoughts on cats, well. let's just skip that comment.

I am not sure Clara's thoughts on cats, we haven't really talked about it alot. I didn't want to burden her right away.  But I did catch Frankie trying to kiss up to her, like she does to Eve.  But I'm not sure if Clara was too happy about it.  Eve doesn't care, but something tells me Clara may feel more like I do about the cats. I have to pull Clara aside and see what her real thoughts are on cats.

That really doesn't look like a happy face to me!  What do you think?

I'm having a good day. It may be raining out there but I'm chilling and snoozing with my friend Eve.  No cats in sight, like I said, I'm having a good day!
Hope you are too!

I am so excited!  I was allowed to take off the stupid cone!  The doctor said my eye is healed!  I'm thrilled to throw out the cone.

I just got an idea.  Maybe I could try it on one of the cats?  That would be so funny!  I have to figure out which one I should put it on!!!  Hummmmm.....stay tuned!

I give up. the vet visit was unsuccessful!  The vet said my eye looked much better (which is good). But mom should keep putting the drops in and I should keep wearing the collar until my next check up mid week next week!  So Katie is gonna take me again on Wednesday.  I sure as heck hope the collar can be removed then!  I'm so tired of this and it's just humiliating!

I hope you all stay dry this weekend.  At least when I go out to go potty, if I keep my head down my face won't get wet in the rain.  This collar is good for something!

Friday, July 20, 2018

This is really not a dignified way to eat. I'm really getting tired of this collar!  I have had it on since I left the vet on Monday night.  It is crazy and stupid.  Who designed it anyway?  I'm gonna find that person and bite their butt!!  I can't scratch my ear, I have to lift my head high when I run up the steps (or it throws me back down, which isn't cool at all). Life wearing this cone is not the way it should be!

I have found that when mom gives me a bone and I bite it in half, I never seems to lose the other half, it is stuck in my collar.  The problem then is to get it out of my collar, mom has to rescue me and find it and feed it to me again.  It's really humiliating to say the least.  I'm so glad she didn't take me for a walk to further humiliate me.  I've stayed very close to home this past week.

I was told that today I'm going to the vet again.  I don't like the vet at all.   However, I will make an exception to not argue about the appointment today.  The vet is gonna check my eye (which will be nasty again, some stupid drop in my eye and then a bright light on it)  I am mentally prepared for what is going to happen this time, but I'm sure I'll squirm for the vet when he looks at it. You know how your eye is when the eye doctor comes at you with this thing to drop in your eye.  Anyway, if I'm good and pass the test, they will take off this horrible cone of shame and I can live again!  Katie said she'd take me to the appointment cause mom is going away.  I will try to be better in the vet's waiting room, but when I see all the other dogs, I want to talk to them.  But mom never sees it that way and tells me to be quite, she goes as far as to take me outside and we wait there until it's my turn.  This is my opportunity, my chance for a soapbox for my fellow dogs and she takes me out of the situation.  How can I explain to her I need to spread some dog words?

oh well, I'll have to ponder that thought until my next vet visit.  But for now, I'm anxious to go and see if they'll take off this STUPID CONE! Wish me luck!!!

Tuesday, July 17, 2018

Okay, I have had better days!  I'm just hanging around on the sofa with Clara.  I have to wear this stupid collar.  (I heard mom call is the collar of shame). I'm so embarrassed!  I really don't know what happened. I was fine and then somehow something scratched my eye ball.  After that the light was horrible and I couldn't keep my eye open.  Katie noticed it and told mom.  Mom had already had a vet appointment for Clara and Penny to get their "normal shots" as mom calls them.  To me there is nothing normal about shots. They hurt. I don't like going to the vet.  The vet squeezes me and looking in my mouth, grabs my legs. It should be again the law what they do to you at the vet.  Have you ever had your temperature taken.  Really, there most be a much better way than sticking something up my butt.  I have to remember to work on inventing that in my spare time.

Anyway, mom decided to take me instead of Penny and I saw the doctor.  He didn't take my temperature (Thank goodness!!!) but he put a drop of something in my eyes and put a bright light in my eye. That was nasty. He said I have a tiny puncture in my eyeball.  He explained it like the eye is jello and it has saran wrap on top. He said it's like a tiny hole in the saran wrap.    He asked what happened and mom and Katie had no idea. Mom thought maybe I walked into a bush outside and it scratched my eye.  I'm not telling what happened, if she knew, she may not let me outside ever again.

The doctor put this stupid cone on my head. I didn't take it sitting down. I growled, squirmed and did all I could to avoid it, but it was two adults against me, and I lost.  So I have this cone on until Friday (when the wonderful vet wants to see me again)  Mom has to put drops in my eyes 4  times a day.  She did pretty good when dad held me, but when she tried this morning, her and I almost threw paws.  But I just decided to let her put the drops in cause she is my mommy you know (and I want to say her favorite)
By the way, Penny got to go to the vet tonight for her "normal shots".  I laughed, she was so excited to go bye bye, but wasn't as thrilled when she came home after being squeezed and got a few shots!  I wonder if she'll be excited to go bye bye again.  Well it is Penny, she'll be excited. I know her!

I'm not proud of the above pictures, please don't spread them around to my fan club!

Love,
your friend,
Leonard!

As  you may already know, my sisters and I have a rough life.  With this stinky hot weather, we all decided to stay inside in the air conditioning and catch up on some sleep!

Saturday, June 9, 2018

OMG!  You will never believe this one.  Last Saturday my mom and Katie got up and went to a place they call the PA Expo Center in Oaks PA.  They said they were having a really big dog adoption at that place. I heard mom tell dad that they waited in the heat for over two hours and then went in this big building with cages and cages and more cages of dogs.  I can't imagine all those dogs needed homes?  I guess that's the story.  Mom said that it was a big Brandywine SPCA event to get all these dogs and cats new homes.  So you can figure mom and Katie brought back another dog. This is the picture that they send dad and basically said, here is the dog we are bringing home!   I'm okay with it, I'm just glad that didn't bring a cat home. I was worried.

This new dog's name is "CLARA"  that is the name they had on the cage and mom and Katie said they like it and she seems to answer to it.  So I was told meet your sister Clara.
She is kind of cute.  She has kennel cough. That's like when humans get a cold.  It's very contagious, but the vet said since all us dogs were up to date with our shots, we should be able to avoid catching it.  We are doing good so far, haven't caught it.

Clara seems very shy like Eve.  The reason that Katie and mom wanted to get another dog was to get a buddy for Eve to play with.  Eve loves to play and wanted to play with Penny and me, but we are in a different weight category and mom is afraid that Eve will hurt one of us little guys.  So we hope once the kennel cough is gone, Clara and Eve will enjoy alot of time playing together. As you can see Eve and Clara look like they are actual sisters.  It's They are both sweet gals.
I'll be in touch as to how Clara is doing!  Right now she is still pretty shy around us all !  But she loves to go outside, we have already learned that!

all right. I confess 4 of these type of creatures, that you call cats, I call enemies, live at our house.  Can you find them all?   Perkins, Holli, Frankie, and Addy.

No way I'm going near that chair ever again.

Mom and dad finally replaced the sofa and I approve of it!  Very comfortable!  Here's a picture of the entire sofa.  Pretty cool.  We all have room to sit with mom on the sofa.

There is even leftover room for dad and Katie too!  (only Frankie has taken up residence on it with Eve of course)

But as I type this, the other cat, Addy took up residence too.  Golly!   What is this sofa coming to?
Good Night folks!

Leonard

Our living room looked like this a few weeks ago.  Then mom and dad went nuts and moved everything out.  They left these two guys in the livingroom and they stole our living room rug! That rug meant alot to me. Alot to all of us. Do you know when our friend Jaybo was sick, she used it as her bathroom (by accident of course)  Then mom would shampoo it.  It would smell good then.  Frankie puked on it alot of times.  Frankie seems to have a weird stomach and many times she will puke after she eats too much or too fast. (Excuse me, but I'm not really an expert on the cat's stomach and it's issues)  I just know what I see and smell.  But my point is, all those smells from all those great animals that are a part of our family had left their smells in that awesome green rug! Those men, they took the rug and mom and dad left them take it!  We should call the police, they stole our valuable rug!  Then, those same men did alot of hammering for two days!  When mom left us in the room to check it out, all that was left on the floor is this stuff that looks like wood, but doesn't smell like wood.  Mom moved our beds and said, "Okay guys the living room is ready."  "Ready?  Ready for what?" Oh well, we all jumped in a bed and surveyed the area.  Mom says we are getting a new sofa.  I'll let you know when it gets delivered, but until then, we have to enjoy our room.

Happy 24th Birthday to one of my best friends, Katie!   I love you girl and I love your birthday pizza!   I like cake, but it can't hold a candle to pizza!  Thanks for requesting a birthday pizza instead of a birthday cake!

Hope you had a great birthday!

Love,
Leonard

Dad bought mom this new quilt for their bed.  We have all slept on it and we approve.  "Okay mom, come on to bed, it's safe now."  "Okay guys, who's gonna move over for mom?"

"Are you kidding me Frankie, can you give Eve a break and let her use the entire chair for a change??" says Leonard as he watches from a distance!

Sunday, January 28, 2018

It seems this cat, Franikie, who once hated Eve when she arrived last February has now bonded with her.  Either that or Eve just tolerates her. I would never do that (As I am sure you already guessed)

It will be a year on the hogs's day that Eve arrived at our house. What's it that hog's day called??   Oh yes, Groundhog's Day. Eve will celebrate her one year anniversary at our house on Groundhog's day.  "Eva Grace" as mom calls her, is a pretty neat dog. She is very calm, except when mom, dad or Katie come home.  They she goes a little crazy. She doesn't really bark like Penny and I do, she kind of howls.  Mom says that's cause she has hound in her. I don't know what hound is, I don't know if you get something stuck in your body and they call it hound or if it's a shot they give you at the vet.   They are always putting something in you at the vet.  Which reminded me I have to go this week, for a booster shot for the flu.  These vets, love to cut your nails, stick their fingers up your butt, squeeze you all over, look in your ears and your mouth and stick needles into you. Someone should really teach them better manners. You are supposed to pet a dog or scratch us behind the ear and tell us we are cute!   I just don't know why my mom agrees to let them do these things to me.  She never asks them if their mother's never taught them any manors or what!!  The only good think about going to the vet is I bark alot in there and the ladies that work there laugh and tell me I'm cute. I don't like to be with other dogs except my sisters, Eve and Penny.    I do like the smells in there though, and I often let my mark for the next dog to know I was there.

The other night mom went to sit on the sofa and she couldn't find any place to sit.  Really, mom? You could have sat between me and Frankie, I would not have minded.  At least Frankie knew not to touch me, I don't agree to that stuff with cats!   I'm not sure what mom ended up doing that night, I think she may have just gone to bed.  Mom going to bed clears the sofa cause I always sleep with my mommy and Penny has to be right night to mom in bed.  Eve, she's a good one, but she usually sleeps at the bottom of the bed.  Sometimes if mom goes to bed before dad, Eve takes over dad's pillow.  But we all do go to bed with mom and get up with mom.  That's kind of an unwritten rule for us dogs.

Oh well, glad I have a few minutes of free time to jump on the computer!  I miss doing my blog!

I'm so sorry, I've really been behind this past year.  I've just been kind of lazy and hiding places.  This cold weather is nuts!

I'll try to do better in 2018!

Happy New Year!  It's the year of the dog, but then I think that's every year!
